The University of Tennessee, School of Natural Resources ‘Data Science Institute’ will be hosting PTF BPI 2026 at the King and Prince Resort in St. Simons Island, GA from November 9-11, 2026. This upcoming conference will be the 11th edition of the successful PTF BPI International Conference series. PTF BPI provides a unique conference platform for networking about applied technologies and innovation between industry and academia. The previous PTF BPI 2023 at St. Simons Island had eight keynote speakers from industry, 36 technical papers, and participation of more than 25 companies from the forest products industry. Participants in 2023 also enjoyed a golf tournament on Monday afternoon and a technical workshop on ‘Introduction to Adhesives.’

Data Sciences Institute members will enjoy a Monday evening dinner with an invited speaker.
Focus areas will be:
- Industry-focused webinars, training, and workshops in data analytics, machine learning, and AI
- Direct applications in manufacturing of data science, machine learning, and AI
- Student education
Members will have the opportunity to interact with UT SNR faculty, staff, and students and attend an annual conference at UT for education and in-person networking. Member companies will be able to engage in confidential research projects with graduate student support. An executive board will govern the Institute.
