The ‘Advanced Analytics and Data Mining’ industry seminars are focused on predictive modeling in support of manufacturing operations. The objectives of the course are to introduce participants to ‘Total Quality Data Management’ and data quality assessment as precursor to predictive modeling. Key objectives are to thoroughly introduce the concepts of multiple linear regression, principal components analysis, partial least squares, logistic regression, regression trees, and neural networks (deep learning). Some advanced SPC concepts for real-time control charting will also be introduced. Sample size determination given ‘false positive’ and ‘false negative’ rates are also taught. The Center for Renewable Carbon offers this program to maintain a strength of providing leading practical education for the bio-based products industry.

CEU Credits: The University of Tennessee, Division of Outreach & Continuing Education will award 4.0 CEU credits to each participant.
The course can also be taken for 3 undergraduate and 3 graduate credit hours at UT for an additional tuition fee.
NOTE: This course requires some prior knowledge of elementary statistical methods. This is a software-based course using JMP 15 and Minitab 19. Each candidate will be provided a PC or laptop, but are encouraged to bring their own laptop to the training session.
